  •  Physics Teacher

Exciting opportunity to join one of Bucharest’s leading international schools.

The International School of Bucharest is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Teacher of  Physics at IGCSE and IB Diploma.

We are looking for a local teacher to contribute to an already thriving school community within an experienced department. 

You will:

  • Have experience of teaching Physics to students in an 11 – 19 school setting;
  • Hold a teaching qualification;
  • Be a fluent English speaker;
  • Be a highly motivated and talented teacher;

  • Assistant to the Director

We are looking for an assistant to the Director who has:

Knowledge of administrative procedures, computers and relevant software application, customer service principles and practices, keyboard skills.
Fluent in verbal and written communication skills in Romanian and in English;
Good organization and planning skills and representative performance;
Focus on results, initiative, adaptable and flexible personality;
Professionalism, attention to detail, diligence, loyalty, commitment;
Proactivity, independence in action and stress resistance

Manage a calendar of appointments; organize meetings regarding interviews or appointments
Take meeting notes and prioritize items that need attention
Offer support in inquiries about school
Office activities (copying documents, filing, keeping the office registers, collect and distribute parcels and other mail, editing and writing letters, e-mails, policies a.o, handling of telephone calls, processing and handling of correspondence etc).
Responsible for translating documents and letters, contracts and official documents for services, employment, copyright a.o.
Preparing school report documentation for local, regional, national authorities;
Greet visitors/parents warmly and make sure they are comfortable.
Designing and sending feedback forms for ISB workshops;
Administrative and organizational support to the Director of the school, reporting;
Anything else needed in ISB (e.g. Lumina Events, invitations etc)
Assist the manager in the interaction with other departments inside the organization(HR -Centralising extra hours, making sure they are approved and signed before sending to HR, Accounts office -invoices orders and other documents that the accounting may need regarding the orders, KS coordinators and Secondary -Collecting orders each month, )
Finding offers for various orders;
Drafting and negotiating contracts for orders;
Insight layout, proofreading, editing and writing content;
Copywriting – news page articles a.o. ;
Planning and strategies;
Events management;
Concepts for flyers, posters etc;

  •  Primary Music Teacher

The International School of Bucharest is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of Music to teach Primary students from the age of 5 to 11 years old. The position is available from August 2018.

The International School of Bucharest is on a purpose-built campus close to the city so it is possible to live in the city centre and commute.  The school has a well-established community among staff and students with low staff turnover.  We are looking for a teacher to contribute to an already thriving school community within an experienced department.

You will:

Have experience in teaching Music in a primary school from Kindergarten to Year 6. Experience in teaching and or knowledge and understanding of the English National curriculum and pedagogy would be highly advantageous.

  •  Campus Manager

Knowledge and Experience
Experience in maintaining buildings and managing all aspects of building projects.
Experience with and/or exposure to software-based maintenance and security systems.
Knowledge of ground and turf management.
Experience in implementation of WH&S programs and reporting requirements.
Excellent budgeting and cost management skills.
Well developed organisational and planning skills.
Highly developed interpersonal and communications skills
A high level of computer literacy.
The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Experience in employee supervision and management.
Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm.
A trade or engineering qualification would be an advantage.
A commitment to model, promote and represent the ISB’s Vision, Mission and Values at all times.

Key responsibilities:

1. Management of the day to day function of the Operations Department within the School.
2. Manage the maintenance, grounds and housekeeping teams to deliver the maintenance and compliance requirements of the School.
3. Coordinate the logistical requirements for events, functions and School activities.
4. Develop and implement the School’s programmed/preventative maintenance program.
5. Involvement in campus upgrade and capital works projects.
6. Management of the School’s maintenance and building contractors.
7. Management of the Operations Annual Budget, including preparation of the budget submission.
8. Assist with Campus Planning and Asset Management of the School.
9. Manage the physical security of the School.
10. Ensure the compliance of works with standard operating procedures and legislative requirements (such as WH&S, Environmental, building codes and other government and non-government authorities).
11. Management of Operations staff, including personal training and development needs.
12. Management of the College WH&S committee, reporting processes and regulatory requirements.
13. Report to the School Senior Management Committee as required.

1. High standard of presentation and functionality of School buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds.
2. Key stakeholders’ satisfaction with service.
3. Effective and timely delivery of major capital works projects.
4. Efficient and coherent operational management within the approved budget limits.

6. Workplace Health and Safety compliance.
7. Compliance with Local, State and Local government legislation.
8. Reporting to the Senior Management Committee and relevant sub-committees as required.
