STUDENT LEADERSHIP

The Sixth Form student leadership team comprises of the Head Student and Deputy Head Student along with a group of Senior Prefects.

Primary Student Council consists of Key Stage 2 students who regularly meet with Mr.Cable who is the chairman of the student council.

The KS2 student council meets monthly to discuss the students’ ideas to improve the school. Each class in KS2 is represented by a class president who shares the ideas of his/her classmates generated from their own class council meetings which are held on a weekly basis. Class presidents have a very important job to play and so are elected by their colleagues twice per school year. The children have so many excellent ideas that we never have time to get through all of them! Ideas that are agreed upon in the council are then passed on for teachers and the Senior Management team to discuss and then a final decision is made whether to implement them. This is the third year of the KS2 council and we have already seen many improvements to the school thanks to the children creativity and drive to push through change. We look forward to many more passionate debates and radical ideas in our next meeting!

I knew I could make it to be a Prefect because I am confident that I am responsible enough to be one. I can at least try to help other students and other teachers with various things. My partner and I are going to try our best at all times and I hope I am going to do an outstanding job and I hope I will have lots of fun and I hope people will listen to me and improve their behaviour and their manners.

I wished to be a Prefect because I wanted to help children at their work and to try to help the school to be better. Also I want to help children respect the rules so they do not get warnings anymore. I do not want everybody to consider me bossy just because I am a Prefect but I wish to remain friends. I would like to support pupils’ ideas and help teachers in need. Being approachable is one of my important tasks. This job is helping me also by developing leadership skills and practising good communication.I wanted to feel the experience of being a Prefect and I hope you will the same.I will try to not disappoint and be the Prefect the school and my colleagues need next to the other Prefects.

I think I will be a good Prefect because I am an honest girl and most people trust me. Everyone listens to my instructions and understands what I say. For me it is not a problem if I need to stay inside to be on duty and actually I like being on duty. i like to help teachers and children as well. So I am ready to be a Prefect.

My name is Karina. When I first heard of Prefects and their duties, I knew I wanted to be one. For some people to be a Prefect may seem easy, but it requires a lot of responsibility and a lot of patience. A Prefect needs to help children, help them find someone to play with if they are lonely and must help the teachers with their duties or with other jobs. I think I am a good Prefect because I am helpful, kind, responsible and I will do my job all the time and be a role model.

I wanted to be a Prefect because I have had experience in helping others and I think I will do a great job; as you can see I am confident. However, if you do not think you can do it you will have negative effects, so put your trust in me.

I think that I should be a Prefect because: firstly, I have been in ISB since Reception so I have many friends and relationships; secondly, I am and was not a tattle-tale or goody-two-shoes and was not the most perfect or with the best behaviour in the class (:-X I am a kid), but in the last few years I managed to behave better; and lastly, people simply trust me and when I have a job I take that seriously. I hope I convinced you why I should be a Prefect.

I wanted to be a Library Helper because outside you play, but inside the library you help and it is better to help rather than to play and not help. I like books because you feel you are inside the story when you read a book.

I wanted to be a Library Helper because I like the way the Library is silent and I like reading books. I thought it is good to be a Library Helper compared to a Prefect because I will help tidy the Library and not spend my time telling children not to run through the school.

I am the Foxes House Captain and I know I will be a good one because: I was a hard working student in my previous years at ISB; I will always make the right decisions for you; I will let you have some chances before I tell the teacher about you because I know each person acts before using their brain; if you do any mistake I know you will learn from it.

I know that if you are a House Captain you need to have much responsibility and you need to be fair. I wanted to be a House Captain because: I can count House Points and help you to earn more; and I want to play games with Key Stage 1 each month.

I plan on doing so by engaging the students and making sure that they know that if they ever have any issues they are more than welcome to come talk to me about them, to reach a mutually beneficial solution.

The decision to move to ISB came when I entered in year 11 and haven't regretted a single day this decision. ISB has brought to me amazing opportunities to a higher education, but also friends and memories to dwell on for years to come. Becoming a prefect means to me responsibility and the ability to help anyone at any time regarding certain concerns or by simply helping out to improve and promote the standards of our school. I chose to become a sports prefect because I feel like it fits my truly enthusiastic eager towards sports, but it also enables me to tap into the facilities we have got and improve on them in order to promote ISB's sports pride. Above all, becoming a prefect will help me develop my social skills, team work and shape up as an individual in the same time.

Stefani
Stefani

Hi, my name is Stefani and this is my second year at ISB. I'm half Romanian and half Bulgarian but honestly feel that I don't belong to a particular culture because I've met so many people from different countries that I've taken a bit from each one. I lived in Turkey for 4 years and this taught me responsibility, which is something that I believe helps me as a prefect. I love helping and organizing school events as well as taking on leadership roles. Being a prefect means a lot to me and looks really good on University applications but allows me to be a more active member of the school
