	The International School of Bucharest provides a high standard of education in English for children aged 2½ to 18.
The Curriculum is structured using the quality framework powered by the National Curriculum for England and Wales which is adapted to include international best practice, meeting the needs of our diverse student body. 	ISB opens it's doors in Pipera. ISB ELC(Early Learning Centre) will accept children for daycare from mid-April, and will be fully operational by Sept 2010.

Scholarship

	The International School of Bucharest has a scholarship program.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Early Years Foundation Stage (aged 2 ½ to 5)

At International School of Bucharest (ISB) we believe that every child deserves the best possible start on life and the support to fulll their potential.

The early years of a child's education is a unique period of time and their experiences during this crucial stage of development has major impact on their future life chances.

A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in it's own right, and it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up.

In EYFS, children learn through a combination of teacher-pupil initiated activities and play. A child centered approach is taken focusing on personal, social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creative development.

Primary School

Primary School (aged 5 to 11)

Building on each child's individual experiences primary curriculum introduces a more structured approach to learning. Children follow English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Music, Art & Design, Computer, PE(Sports) as well as Romanian Language.

Our pupils make excellent academic progress and external exam results are always good. Pupils are prepared both academically and emotionally for the transition to Secondary School.

Secondary School

Secondary and High School (aged 11-18)

We encourage active learning, critical thinking and excellent communication skills.

At the beginning of year 10, students begin the demanding two-year Cambridge IGCSE programme which provides a rigorous, challenging academic course of study. A wide range of subjects are on oer to give your child a more broad education.

Pupils study the AS/A2 International A level programme in Year 12 and 13. International A level is recognized worldwide as a requirement for entry into higher education. Study and examinations at A level give students in-depth knowledge and lifelong skills that prepare them for success in the higher education and employment.
